Chef De Partie – Bovey Castle

We have an exciting opportunity to join our award winning team in our busy Smith’s Brasserie – a friendly and informal restaurant within our 5AA Red Star Bovey Castle Estate.

Working as part of our Executive Chef, Mark Budd’s brigade, this role is perfect for a Chef with proven experience in delivering a high-quality food offering, ideally at rosette standard.  It’s a fantastic opportunity to join, as we have exciting development plans for our multi food outlets which focus on concept led dining, both fine dining and informal.

What you’ll be doing?

As Chef De Partie, you will need to be responsible for the running of the whole section while assisting the senior chefs in managing the kitchen effectively. At Bovey it is all about our guests, being 100% customer focused with a ‘can do’ attitude and sense of humour, alongside an eye for detail.

What you’ll need?

The successful candidate for this role will be professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to providing Rosette Standard food. You will be required to work well within the team as it will often be necessary to transfer between the kitchens to cover absence.

  • You will already have gained credible experience within a professional food environment, ideally at rosette standard;
  • Basic skills and knowledge at Professional Cookery Level 2 / Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard qualification is an essential requirement, with Level 3 qualification preferred;
  • A passion for food and produce, with a pride in its delivery to the plate;
  • The ability to lead a section, working with Commis Chefs in ensuring food is prepped and ready for service – great timekeeping and organisational skills are key;
  • Your potential, your commitment, and your ability to work under pressure alongside being an excellent team player, is every bit as important to us as your knife-handling skills.
