Having been nominated within their hotel to represent Veuve Clicquot, our Veuve Clicquot Ambassadors recently embarked on their journey of discovery to learn all about the world of Madame Clicquot, whereby Ethan Boroian – UK Champagne Ambassador for Moët Hennessy guided them through the inspiring history of the ‘House’ and indeed Madame Clicquot herself.
The day commenced with a fascinating journey through time from the very first foundations of the ‘House’ in 1772 to the first creation of Vintage Champagne in 1810, to a Baltic Sea discovery in 2010 and finally to the present days’ future plans. The story through time was of huge interest to our ever-engrossed team learning and taste testing during their day.

Ethan enchanted the group with the story of Madame Clicquot who created the first known Vintage Champagne in 1810, invented the riddling table process to clarify Champagne in 1816 and in 1818 invented the first known blended Rosé Champagne. The ambassadors learnt about grape varieties, the vineyards, the maturation process, through to the years of best harvest and delightful complimenting food pairings along with so many more fascinating insights. From learning the correct position and temperature to store these jewels of delicious beauty to obtain maximum preservation to the correct procedure to open, pour and serve these bottles of pure indulgence and pleasure, the team all agreed it was the most enjoyable insightful day.
Gaining valuable knowledge, our Veuve Clicquot Ambassadors will return to their hotels, enthuse with and train their teams and educate their guests with a greater confidence.
