Battle of Eden 2018 – 8 chefs. 8 dishes. 1 winner… you decided!

Please get in touch if you would like to contact us about our hotel news.

At this year’s highly anticipated Battle of Eden, we took a step back and recreated the atmosphere of the roaring 20s where fashion and technology were evolving, life was just swell and all that jazz!

We revelled in all that is unique about our chefs, produce from our wonderful local suppliers and home grown ingredients from our own kitchen gardens as we presented our annual ‘Battle of Eden’. 8 chefs. 8 dishes. 1 winner… you decided!

The soiree was a black tie dinner with a Great Gatsby theme, comprised of eight courses paired with Champagne and wines, cooked by the eight Eden head chefs. As the night drew to a close, everyone voted for their favourite dish and we crowned one of the chefs the victor, before dancing the night away with a Charleston or two!

A massive thank you to all the chefs who participated in the 2018 ‘Battle of Eden 2018’ event! We’re honoured to have such fantastic chefs representing and working in our hotels!

Congratulations to Abhijeet Dasalkar from The Arden Hotel with his much loved and winning dish – Guinea Fowl “High Tea”. Abhijeet has successfully retained his title from the last Battle of Eden!

With third place going jointly to Crispy West Egg, Confit Leek with a Truffled Soldier by Tim Jenkins of Brockencote Hall and Key Lime Pie by Marcus McGuinness at The Greenway.

Well done to all the chefs and thank you to all the staff that made the event such a success!

See you next year at ‘Battle of Eden’ 2019!
